The Emigrant was a 3-masted barque built in New Brunswick in 1845.
An advertisement in 1850 described her as '753 tons, coppered and copper-fastened...Has full poop, with superior accommodation'. (The Times, London, 19 March 1850, p.1)
The Emigrant was owned by J. S. De Wolf & Co., a Liverpool shipping and merchant firm.
The agent for the 1850 voyage was Carter & Bonus,
